This week-long painting holiday will bring you inspiration and art in abundance from your base at stunning Lake Skadar in Montenegro!
Your accommodation for the week is in two beautifully restored villa farmhouses in the secluded hill village of Zabes, by Virpazar, gateway to the lake and National Park. Here you will find landscapes and subjects galore on your doorstep as well as at the glorious Adriatic coast nearby.

Dalmatian Coast & Wildlife of Croatia 27th May - 3rd June 2025
What makes painting in Croatia so special? It’s the warm Mediterranean light, the turquoise sea, the sparkling waves, twisted trees and small villages. It’s the restaurants serving Dalmatian specialities, iced coffee and wine.
We will spend time in one place, getting to know the landscapes through observation and visual exercises – and having time to explore with our sketchbooks.
-
Puffins, Castles, & Coast - 23rd -27th June 2025
Sketching outdoors in the sunshine! Find inspiration in the colours and shapes of the wild Northumberland coast.
Out and about, sketching and painting en plein air, we spend time on Holy Island and at Lindisfarne Priory, Bamburgh Castle, and the delightful coastal village of Alnmouth.
There is also the exciting option of a boat trip to the Farne Islands, a sanctuary for seabirds and seals. June is the height of the puffin breeding season, so there will be plenty of opportunities to paint these endearing and unforgettable birds too.

Northern Lights, Tromso Norway - TBC 2025
Join me on a late winter art expedition with bright snowy landscapes and pink skies…
Our base for this Art Safari is the beautiful Kvaløya Island (Whale Island), about an hour’s drive from Tromso, where we are surrounded by Norwegian wilderness and superb views of mountains and the sea.
Late winter is a wonderful time of year in this part of Norway, the landscape is still covered in a crisp blanket of snow, there is plenty of daylight and sunlight (!) and the soft hues of pinks, oranges and purples at sunrise and sunset are magical. We will paint outside and in the warmth of our spacious studio with wraparound views…

FULLY BOOKED Alpine meadows and wildlife of Slovenia - 1st June - 7th June 2024
In Slovenia you will discover a wealth of painting subjects, from dramatic gorges with thundering waterfalls that flow into sparkling rivers to the most delicate of alpine flowers in meadows full of tiny butterflies. Slovenia is a haven for wildlife, which lives secretly and comfortably alongside old-style farming practice, complete with delightful barns in naturally wild meadows.
We look out for storks on chimney stacks, red squirrels, hawfinch, alpine swifts, snow bunting, chamois, marmots, badgers, deer, wolves and European brown bears in the forests. We paint these multi-textured landscapes, sketch beside peaceful lakes, visit villages with carefully tended vegetable gardens and chat to local people.
Tuition
All abilities, Indoor or Outdoors, One 2 One or Groups, or looking to dip your brush into paint for the very first time, beginners become improvers very quickly.
I can provide full day or half-day tuition, tailored to suit your needs and budget.
Please contact me if you are interested in receiving more information about tuition.
My philosophy when it comes to teaching: Patience, kindness, repetition and reward when applicable.
I offer encouragement and I never put people down. A lot of my students are shy. It's so easy for people to say they are rubbish and never paint again – this often happens in school. I am aware that adults need to regain confidence a lot of the time.
